Back to the Studio
Metallica was a roaring success in South Africa. "Is this where
all the wild animals are?" Metallica singer James Hetfield shouted at the 43,000
people jammed into Supersport Park on March 18. The crowd's roaring
response proved just how wild they were about being the first to ever witness
Metallica perform in Africa. Meanwhile fans from around the world gathered
in front of their computers to be a part of this historic event as a local South
African station broadcasted Metallica's first two songs live over the air and
across the Internet. The excitement and enthusiasm for Metallica stayed
strong and fierce as Metallica tore up the stages in Durban and Cape Town.
After a very successful escape to South Africa, Metallica is reported to be
taking a few days off to rest, relax and shore up for studio work and the much
hoped for new material!! The next escape is in June when Metallica invades
Europe for a summer full of music festivals including Download and the Rock Am
Ring Festivals. Fans around the world are wondering, and rumors are flying
what Metallica will spring upon us during July before escaping to Japan and the
